It\u2019s that time of year to celebrate the lives of those who\u2019ve died. D\u00eda de los Muertos is when people celebrate and remember family members, close friends, pets, and even those we\u2019ve never met in person.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s celebrated between Nov. 1 and 2, and pets have their own special day on Oct. 27.<\/p>\n

Of course, bright Marigolds, also known as Cempas\u00fachil, are a tradition for the holiday and can be found all around Los Angeles. From local shops to last minute locations, here\u2019s our list of places to buy them for D\u00eda de los Muertos.<\/p>\n

Local street vendors<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll find vendors selling marigolds in bouquets or in bulk around Los Angeles. In Boyle Heights, floral vendors can usually be found off East 4th Street between South Lorena and South Indiana Streets. These vendors<\/a> cater to the Eastside community for big holidays.<\/p>\n

L.A. Flower District<\/p>\n

The historic district is full of local shops selling Marigolds.<\/p>\n

Latinx With Plants<\/p>\n

You can find\u00a0Latinx With Plants<\/a>\u00a0in Boyle Heights where every year the nursery offers fresh marigolds and flower crowns made with cempas\u00fachils. It is best to preorder those. You\u2019ll also find a variety of plants and fun terra cotta pots, adorned with Latin idols Juan Gabriel and Bad Bunny.<\/p>\n

La Mayordomia 2<\/p>\n

In the corner of this small strip of shops you\u2019ll find at the entrance hundreds of fresh Cempas\u00fachil in front of this local Oaxacan store. La Mayordomia 2 also provides plenty of pastries and produce. Parking lot spaces are limited, but there\u2019s usually plenty of street parking.<\/p>\n

Flowers El Ranchito<\/p>\n

Located in the northeast corner of the San Fernando Valley,\u00a0Flowers El Ranchito<\/a>\u00a0is offering marigolds until November 2nd.<\/p>\n

Bixby Petals<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re in the South Bay, check out\u00a0Bixby Petals<\/a>\u00a0in the Bixby Knolls neighborhood of Long Beach. The flower shop serves bundles of marigolds from $5 to $10.<\/p>\n

S\u00e1nchez Produce<\/p>\n

This small family owned business has operated a field of cempas\u00fachil for over two decades. On Nov. 1, S\u00e1nchez Produce will also have their annual blessing of their ofrenda ceremony, which includes traditional Aztec dancers. Their Instagram has all the information about parking, prices, and more. It\u2019s cash only!<\/p>\n

Last minute finds<\/p>\n

Anyone who might be short on time can likely find some Marigolds at your neighborhood Trader Joes or nearby Vallarta Supermarket for potted marigolds.
