According to police, Rivera said he had killed someone that night.<\/p>\n<p data-v-871f4c88=\"\">NASSAU COUNTY, N.Y. &#8211; A <a href=\"https:\/\/fox5ny.com\/tag\/us\/ny\/long-island\/nassau-county\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Nassau County<\/a> man was arrested and charged with <a href=\"https:\/\/fox5ny.com\/tag\/crime-publicsafety\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">stabbing two women<\/a> to death on <a href=\"https:\/\/fox5ny.com\/tag\/us\/ny\/long-island\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Long Island<\/a> within hours of each other, police announced on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" origination_station=\"WNYW\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-871f4c88=\"\">What we know:<\/p>\n<p data-v-871f4c88=\"\">Rony Yahir Alvarenga Rivera is facing charges of first and second-degree murder for the two attacks, according to the Nassau County Police Department.<\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" origination_station=\"WNYW\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-871f4c88=\"\">The backstory:<\/p>\n<p data-v-871f4c88=\"\">Both attacks happened in the early morning hours on Friday, May 1. The first was just before 12:30 a.m. Officers were called out to a Wendy&#8217;s on Austin Boulevard in Long Beach. When they got there, they found a 42-year-old woman who had been stabbed outside the restaurant. Officers were called out to a home on West Mineola Avenue in Valley Stream for a welfare check.
