The win follows a difficult series loss to the Nationals as the Mets opened their West Coast road trip in Anaheim.<\/p>\n<p>Starting pitcher Christian Scott surrendered a two-run home run to Jorge Soler in the first inning and an unearned run in the third following a throwing error by Francisco Alvarez. Despite the early 3-0 deficit, Scott recovered to strike out eight batters over his outing, matching his career high while allowing only three hits according to Amazin&#8217; Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>The Mets offense initiated a rally in the sixth inning when Bo Bichette hit a line drive that struck Angels pitcher Walbert Ure\u00f1a, forcing his exit from the contest. The relief corps ensured the one-run lead held up, preventing any Angels baserunners from reaching throughout the final seven innings of play.<\/p>\n<p>The two teams are scheduled to meet again Saturday night at 9:38 p.m. at Angel Stadium.
