LONG BEACH — Thousands lined Pacific Avenue, waving flags and wearing red, white and blue for the grand parade on Sunday, May 3, in Long Beach, the culmination of the 76th annual Loyalty Days Festival, a patriotic event honoring American heritage, veterans and active military members.

It was the hottest day since last fall, reaching 84 in downtown Long Beach.

The day was made all the more special for participants and spectators by it being the 250th anniversary of the founding of the nation. Although the orientation was toward smiles and fun, there was a strong undercurrent of pride in America’s underlying historical legacy.

In Ilwaco on Saturday, a cooler and perfectly pleasant day welcomed kids and their families for the informal children’s parade. The Blessing of the Fleet motored out of Port of Ilwaco to set the stage for a successful season for charters and other fishermen.

76th annual Loyalty Days Festival: Published 7:23 pm Sunday, May 3, 2026 LONG BEACH — Thousands lined Pacific…

[33
131,133,132
post-298643","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-long-beach","tag-long-beach","tag-long-beach-headlines","tag-long-beach-news
["GET
