WASHINGTON (TNND) \u2014 President Donald Trump is set to host a small business summit<\/a> at the White House on Monday, highlighting what the administration says are major economic gains for small business owners.<\/p>\n

The event comes as part of National Small Business Week, with more than 130 business owners from across the country expected to attend. Participants represent a range of industries, including manufacturing, food production, defense, energy, and retail.<\/p>\n

Trump is expected to deliver remarks recognizing the 2026 Small Business Week award winners and outlining policies his administration says have supported business growth.<\/p>\n

A key focus of the event will be the administration\u2019s tax policies aimed at small businesses. The White House says the president will highlight provisions from the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, part of a broader tax package signed into law last year. The policy made the 20% small business tax deduction permanent and allowed full expensing for new equipment, factory construction and research investments.<\/p>\n

The plan also includes provisions to reduce taxes on tips and overtime pay, as well as expand the child tax credit. According to the Treasury Department, millions of workers have benefited from these measures, including more than six million people who claimed tax relief on tips and over 25 million who saw benefits tied to overtime pay.<\/p>\n

Small Business Administration Administrator Kelly Loeffler said the policies have helped strengthen local economies and support job growth. \u201cWe are a nation of builders again,\u201d Loeffler said, adding that the administration\u2019s approach has helped small businesses expand and invest.<\/p>\n

Our nation\u2019s 36 million small businesses now have the confidence to hire, reinvest and expand, unleashing an historic era of sustained growth. America is open for business again.\u201d SBA Administrator Loeffler said.<\/p>\n

The administration says regulatory changes have also played a role, including efforts to reduce compliance costs for businesses and expand access to loans through the SBA. Officials say the SBA backed tens of billions of dollars in loans over the past year, reaching a record number of small businesses.<\/p>\n

The summit will also feature several business owners being recognized for their work. Among them is Mark Lamoncha, named National Business Person of the Year, who leads a manufacturing company focused on 3D printing technology.<\/p>\n

Other attendees include entrepreneurs from across the country, including small manufacturers, restaurant owners and family-run businesses.<\/p>\n

The White House says the event is meant to highlight what it calls a broader \u201cMain Street revival,\u201d tied to tax cuts, regulatory changes and increased access to capital. Officials say the goal is to show how federal policy is impacting everyday businesses and local communities.<\/p>\n
