BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 New details have emerged in a case involving a Kern County Superintendent of Schools employee accused of sex crimes involving a minor<\/a> after investigators say a video found on a student\u2019s phone led police to the suspect.<\/p>\n

According to court documents, the investigation began after Bakersfield police were alerted to a video found on a student\u2019s phone. Detectives said the video showed a 14-year-old student FaceTiming the suspect, identified as Adolfo Escudero-Mendoza.<\/p>\n

Investigators later interviewed the teen, who told police the suspect frequently contacted students by phone and social media, and that conversations often became inappropriate, court documents said.<\/p>\n

Court documents also allege Escudero-Mendoza paid the student for explicit images and videos. Authorities said the suspect admitted to sending $200 to the victim starting in September 2025, when the student was 13.<\/p>\n

Escudero-Mendoza pleaded not guilty on Friday, May 1, to multiple charges<\/a>. Police said there may be additional victims.<\/p>\n
