{"id":301428,"date":"2026-05-05T21:32:30","date_gmt":"2026-05-05T21:32:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/301428\/"},"modified":"2026-05-05T21:32:30","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T21:32:30","slug":"man-expected-to-face-charges-after-barricading-himself-in-oakland-7-eleven","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/301428\/","title":{"rendered":"Man expected to face charges after barricading himself in Oakland 7-Eleven"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH \u2014 A man is expected to face charges after barricading himself inside a 7-Eleven in Oakland. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">A Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesperson says officers were called to the convenience store on Craig Street around 4:30 a.m. to check on the welfare of a man shouting incoherently. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The spokesperson says the man was in an office space behind the counter, with the door locked, while in possession of a wooden staff with a metal pointed tip. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">After several attempts to get into the office and hails for him to come out, the man was taken into custody. He was later taken to a local hospital for medical clearance. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The spokesperson says while in the office, the man damaged equipment like monitors, scanners and a tablet. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Once released from the hospital, he\u2019s expected to face charges.
