(KFSN) &#8212; The city of Fresno will soon have a professional hockey team for the first time in nearly 20 years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The announcement comes on the same day that Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer delivers the State of the City address.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Games are set to be played in the city&#8217;s historic Selland Area, where the former Fresno Falcons professional hockey team played.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The Falcons were part of the East Coast Hockey League before ultimately shutting down in 2008.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">More information on the new hockey team, including the league and overall vision, will be announced during a press conference at 2 pm Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026 KFSN-TV.
