Provided $10 million in capital grants to\u00a0partner\u00a0cities.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Operated\u00a0programs that\u00a0serve about 250 households nightly.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The report also shows\u00a0a\u00a026%\u00a0decrease in\u00a0homelessness among transitional age youth,\u00a0supported by the County\u2019s $3.6 million annual investment in the Housing Our Youth Program.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Several\u00a0partner\u00a0cities saw significant reductions\u00a0in homelessness\u00a0following coordinated\u00a0efforts with the County:\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Lemon Grove:\u00a050% decrease after a yearlong County outreach pilot\u00a0and coordinated transition\u00a0to City\u2019s\u00a0encampment resolution housing efforts.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Santee:\u00a064% decrease,\u00a0supported\u00a0by\u00a0County-led\u00a0$17 million\u00a0Encampment Resolution\u00a0state grant\u00a0serving\u00a0communities\u00a0along\u00a0the\u00a0San Diego riverbed.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
San Marcos:\u00a076% decrease through\u00a0joint\u00a0efforts between the County, the\u00a0City,\u00a0local\u00a0schools\u00a0\u00a0and\u00a0the Sheriff\u2019s Department.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The\u00a0County\u00a0also\u00a0administers\u00a0programs that help people stay housed or avoid homelessness.\u00a0These\u00a0\u00a0include\u00a0HomeSafe\u00a0for older adults, the Housing and Disability Advocacy Program, Community Care Coordination\u00a0services\u00a0\u00a0for\u00a0people leaving custody, and housing\u00a0programs\u00a0that\u00a0support\u00a0\u00a0LGBTQ+ residents.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
In partnership with\u00a0the City of San Diego\u00a0and the Regional Task Force on Homelessness, the\u00a0County\u00a0secures\u00a0about $50 million annually in state homelessness funding.\u00a0The County\u00a0also\u00a0helped secure\u00a0$22 million in Encampment Resolution Grant funding\u00a0in collaboration with local cities and Caltrans.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0To prevent homelessness, the\u00a0County\u00a0has\u00a0invested\u00a0nearly $1.5 million\u00a0in\u00a0diversion\u00a0funds\u00a0and supports eviction\u00a0prevention and shallow\u00a0rental\u00a0subsidy programs.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
