A 56-year-old man was arrested this week on suspicion of beating his brother in West Long Beach, leading to his death in a hospital days later, authorities said.<\/p>\n
Marcellus Johnson, who police said was homeless, was arrested on Monday, Oct. 27, on suspicion of attempted murder after police were called about his brother, Mark Johnson, who was in a hospital with major trauma, Long Beach police said.<\/p>\n
Mark Johnson, also 56 and a Long Beach resident, died the following day, police said.<\/p>\n
The brothers argued in the 2500 block of Delta Avenue sometime on Sunday, Oct. 26, which led to a physical assault, police said; officers were notified that day around 6 p.m. that a man was hospitalized and appeared to be an assault victim.<\/p>\n
Marcellus Johnson was being held in jail on $2 million bail, police said.<\/p>\n
