He&#8217;s a career .224 hitter with 22 homers and a .611 OPS over three-plus big league seasons.<\/p>\n<p>But for a Giants team already struggling at the plate, and the emergence of rookies Daniel Susac and Jes\u00fas Rodr\u00edguez, a change was needed as they prioritized bats. Both Susac (11-for-23) and Rodriguez (5-for-11) have shown early promise at the plate.<\/p>\n<p>San Francisco <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsportsbayarea.com\/mlb\/san-francisco-giants\/patrick-bailey-trade-guardians\/1936890\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">traded Bailey to the Cleveland Guardians<\/a> for the No. 29 pick in the 2026 MLB Draft and left-handed pitching prospect Matt Wilkinson, the team announced Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Bailey was selected No. 13 overall by the Giants in the first round of the 2020 MLB draft.
