It\u2019s Wild Bill and he\u2019s fun,\u201d Golden Knights defenseman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/player\/ben-hutton-8477018\" title=\"Ben Hutton\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ben Hutton<\/a>\u00a0said Saturday. \u201cHe\u2019s fun to make jokes with and lighten the mood, but also on the ice he\u2019s a heck of a player. He can play in any role in any situation. When you get a guy like that, it only helps.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Three games into his return from a lower-body injury sustained Nov. 8, Karlsson set up linemate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/player\/mitchell-marner-8478483\" title=\"Mitch Marner\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mitch Marner<\/a>\u00a0for the goal that gave him a hat trick on Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s huge. He\u2019s such a key player for our group and does so many of the little things,\u201d Golden Knights forward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/player\/jack-eichel-8478403\" title=\"Jack Eichel\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jack Eichel<\/a>\u00a0said Saturday. \u201cI\u2019m so happy for him. I know how hard he\u2019s worked all year to get back to this position and we\u2019re really happy to have him back. I think he\u2019s done a great job for someone that\u2019s taken so much time away from play as he had, and stepping in and making it look like he\u2019s been with us all along.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTons of credit to him and we know how important he is to our group, so it\u2019s been great having him back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Karlsson, 33, is in his ninth season with the Golden Knights and is one of the original Misfits, selected by Vegas in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He won the Stanley Cup with the Golden Knights in 2023 and is a fan favorite both because of his play and infectious personality.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI knew a little bit about Will coming here,\u201d said Marner, who is in his first season with the Golden Knights, following his hat-trick performance. \u201cI didn\u2019t know as much as people were telling me about him. Obviously, he was big for us at the start of the season and then losing him was a big hit for our team as well. I played the full game with him tonight, a little bit of last game.
