WELL, A HALLOWEEN TRADITION IN SACRAMENTO IS CLOSED THIS YEAR, BUT THE EVANGELINE STORE IN OLD SACRAMENTO IS AT LEAST LOOKING FORWARD TO A FRESH START. YEAH, THAT FIRE DAMAGE THAT STORE IN JUNE. A LOT OF PEOPLE GO TO EVANGELINE\u2019S TO GET THEIR COSTUMES. THE FIRE DESTROYED MUCH OF THE MERCHANDISE ON THE FIRST FLOOR, BUT THE ITEMS ON THE SECOND AND THIRD FLOORS WERE SAVED. RIGHT NOW, THOSE ITEMS ARE PACKED INTO A WAREHOUSE IN WEST SACRAMENTO. REPAIRS ON THE STORE ARE UNDERWAY, BUT THE OWNER IS MISSING OUT BECAUSE THIS IS THE BUSIEST TIME OF YEAR FOR HIM. IT IS SO HEARTBREAKING. I MEAN, THE AMOUNT OF CALLS THAT WE GET THE WEEK OF HALLOWEEN AND THE WEEKS LEADING UP TO HALLOWEEN ARE NORMALLY OFF THE CHARTS. THE PHONE CALLS THAT WE\u2019RE GETTING NOW ARE JUST WE\u2019RE SO SORRY. AND AND I MEAN, WE\u2019RE JUST. IS IT TRUE WHAT GOOGLE SAYS? ARE YOU GUYS REALLY CLOSED? \t\tEditorial Standards \u24d8<\/a><\/p>\n \n\t\t\t\t\t\tEvangeline’s, a popular destination for costumes in Old Sacramento, is closed this Halloween after a destructive fire earlier this year.Known as a go-to place for costumes in Sacramento, the fire destroyed much of their merchandise on the first floor, while items on the second and third floors were saved and are currently stored in a warehouse in West Sacramento. Repairs are underway, but the owner is missing out on the busiest time of the year.”It has been so heartbreaking,” said Rachel Immel, Evangeline’s store manager. “I mean, the amount of calls we get the week of Halloween and the weeks leading up to Halloween are normally off of the charts.
