(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 Former Arvin police Sgt. Delia Reyes was acquitted on all charges tied to a <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/arvin-police-sergeant-arrested-allegedly-found-with-controlled-substance-kcso-crime-kern-county-sheriffs-office-bakersfield-police-california-drugs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">2023 arrest involving drugs and weapon<\/a>s after a Kern County Superior Court judge found there was not enough evidence to proceed.<\/p>\n<p>Reyes appeared in court on Monday for a preliminary hearing. After considering the evidence presented, the court found insufficient evidence to hold Reyes to answer on an alleged felony charge of possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm, as well as two misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance.<\/p>\n<p>The court dismissed the case on May 11, 2026. The Kern County District Attorney\u2019s Office said it is reviewing the outcome of the hearing yesterday and will determine the next course of action.<\/p>\n<p>Reyes was arrested in November 2023 by Kern County deputies after she was allegedly found with a controlled substance and was allegedly under the influence of a controlled substance.<\/p>\n<p>PREVIOUS REPORTING:<a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/arvin-police-sergeant-arrested-allegedly-found-with-controlled-substance-kcso-crime-kern-county-sheriffs-office-bakersfield-police-california-drugs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> Arvin Police sergeant arrested, allegedly found with controlled substance at home: KCSO<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Kern County Sheriff\u2019s Office said Reyes, of Bakersfield, was off-duty at the time and was associated with Francisco Beltran, 47, of Durango, Mexico, during a multi-agency narcotics investigation. In one of three home searches, Reyes was also found to be allegedly in possession of several firearms, according to KCSO.<\/p>\n<p>KCSO said investigators also found evidence of alleged steroid possession by Reyes\u2019 roommate, Deangelo Sanchez, a 26-year-old off-duty Bakersfield Police Department officer from Dinuba.
