The court ordered him not to drive and to surrender his driver\u2019s license and passport. The Department of Motor Vehicles was also ordered by the court to suspend Lu\u2019s license.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Photo: Citizen\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/280b85d0fd425ba0c0989ed287aa6672.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Photo: Citizen<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The fatal collision occurred March 27 around 7:44 a.m. outside New Lun Ting Caf\u00e9 at 670 Jackson Street. San Francisco Police Department investigators believe that Lu was attempting to park his car when he hit two pedestrians on the sidewalk and then rammed into the caf\u00e9. The two pedestrians were rushed to a local hospital, where one of the victims succumbed to their injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Lu remained at the scene of the crash to cooperate with the investigation. On the day of the crash, police said that alcohol or drugs were not suspected to be factors in the incident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The next court date in the case is set for Sept. 30.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
