SAN JOSE \u2014 A 40-year-old San Jose man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing nearly $8,000 worth of golf balls from chain stores across Santa Clara County, police said.<\/p>\n
A total of 28 thefts happened between March 25 and May 5 in Cupertino, San Jose, Santa Clara and Sunnyvale, according to San Jose police spokesperson Stacie Shih.<\/p>\n
Shih said organized retail theft investigators identified the 40-year-old San Jose man as the primary suspect and determined he was reselling the stolen golf balls online.<\/p>\n
On May 6, investigators found the man in San Jose and arrested him on suspicion of grand theft. A search of his home also turned up stolen golf balls, according to Shih.<\/p>\n
The man was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose, Shih said.<\/p>\n
