{"id":318852,"date":"2026-05-16T13:18:16","date_gmt":"2026-05-16T13:18:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/318852\/"},"modified":"2026-05-16T13:18:16","modified_gmt":"2026-05-16T13:18:16","slug":"riverside-school-resource-officer-accused-of-excessive-force-on-student","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/318852\/","title":{"rendered":"Riverside school resource officer accused of excessive force on student"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Riverside County sheriff\u2019s officials are investigating a report of a school resource officer who allegedly used excessive force on a female student while responding to an altercation less than a block away from a Moreno Valley high school campus. <\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, a school resource deputy was alerted to a fight between two students just off the school campus at 3:47 p.m., said Deirdre Vickers, spokesperson for the sheriff\u2019s office. <\/p>\n<p>According to <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DYRAVOoqYXI\/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Instagram user Crowntownactivity,<\/a> who posted a video of the encounter online, the incident occurred less than a mile from Vista del Lago High School \u2014 the account user did not disclose his name, citing privacy concerns. <\/p>\n<p>The sheriff\u2019s office did not confirm the location of the incident. <\/p>\n<p>One of Crowntownactivity\u2019s followers alerted him to the incident, and when he arrived at the scene, he said a female student was walking away from the other student when officers approached her and told her to stop, he told The Times.<\/p>\n<p>When the Instagram user started <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DYRAVOoqYXI\/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">recording the video,<\/a> the student was on the ground with the school resource officer standing above her while holding her hands \u2014 three other men were standing around them.
