LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) \u2014 A man was charged by Ephrata police after they say he lost control of his vehicle while driving under the influence last month. <\/p>\n
The incident happened around 12:13 a.m. on April 15 in the 800 block of East Main Street in Ephrata Township. <\/p>\n
Christopher Ulrich, 49, was driving his Jeep Wrangler when he struck a pedestrian crossing sign and crossed over the center median, according to police. The Jeep then caught on fire after the crash. <\/p>\n
Ulrich wasn’t injured in the wreck, but he did “exhibit signs of impairment,” according to police. <\/p>\n
A breath test allegedly found Ulrich’s blood alcohol concentration to be .168% \u2014 over twice the legal limit in Pennsylvania. <\/p>\n
Ulrich was charged with two DUI misdemeanors and cited for three traffic offenses, according to online court documents.
