Three people were killed and several others were injured when a vehicle struck pedestrians and cars in East Oakland, according to fire officials. The circumstances of the crash were not immediately known.<\/p>\n

The incident happened just before 11:15 p.m. on Saturday near 85th Avenue and International Boulevard, according<\/a> to the Oakland Fire Department. <\/p>\n

The intersection is in a mixed residential and commercial corridor in East Oakland, near a Baptist church, though officials did not immediately identify the exact scene of the incident.<\/p>\n

Fire officials said three people were dead when first responders arrived. Three others were taken to local hospitals, including two in critical condition and one in serious condition.<\/p>\n

Two additional people were waiting to be taken for medical treatment with minor injuries, including the suspect, according to the fire department. Officials did not release the suspect\u2019s name.<\/p>\n

No details were immediately released about the ages of the victims or what led up to the incident.
