The ongoing feud between President Donald Trump and California Gov. Gavin Newsom flared up once again Sunday \u2014 sparked by a fresh round<\/a> of social media barbs \u2014 including an image of a zombie Gov.<\/p>\n

Trump grabbed attention by sharing an image<\/a> of a mock California license plate reading \u201cNEW-SCM,\u201d featuring Newsom in the middle depicted in a zombie-like state.<\/p>\n

The post racked up more than 135,000 views after Newsom\u2019s press office reposted the dig and wrote, \u201cEven a Zombie Newscum still looks healthier than our current President. #PrayersforGrandpa.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s jab came in response to Newsom\u2019s own social media swipe<\/a> earlier that day, when the governor\u2019s press office posted an image of Trump flanked by security alongside what appeared to be an alien figure in chains.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe President of the United States just posted this. Do you think he\u2019s lost it?\u201d the caption read.<\/p>\n

The escalating online spat is just the latest in a long-running war of words<\/a> between the two political heavyweights.<\/p>\n

Back in January, Trump blasted Newsom as a \u201cLame Duck\u201d making a \u201cmockery of himself\u201d on the world stage during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.<\/p>\n

Trump accused Newsom of prioritizing international attention while California continued to battle crime, drought, and wildfire devastation.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe should finish his monstrously \u2018over budget and behind schedule\u2019 Railroad, from San Francisco to L.A., one of the Greatest Public Disasters in History, and focus on stopping Crime in the streets of California Cities \u2014 Then finish out his term, and GO HOME!\u201d Trump wrote at the time.<\/p>\n

The White House also previously told<\/a> The California Post that Newsom should \u201cstop undermining the United States on the world stage\u201d and focus on fixing his \u201cbroken\u201d home state.<\/p>\n

Newsom, meanwhile, has continued firing back, with his press office calling Trump a \u201cderanged, habitual liar\u201d and mocking his \u201clittle fingers\u201d<\/a> after the president launched a fraud investigation into California.<\/p>\n
