Deputies, San Jose firefighters and the sheriff\u2019s dive team were called in to search the lake.<\/p>\n<p>The dive team found the body during the search, and the person was pronounced dead at 4:11 p.m., the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities had not confirmed the person\u2019s identity Sunday evening. The Santa Clara County coroner will conduct an autopsy.<\/p>\n<p>It was not immediately clear why the person entered the lake, the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/parks.santaclaracounty.gov\/locations\/hellyer-county-park\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">Hellyer County Park<\/a> is a 178-acre county park in San Jose, where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alltrails.com\/trail\/us\/california\/cottonwood-lake-1-trail\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">Cottonwood Lake<\/a> is a central feature.
