FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (FOX26) \u2014 A booth spot for the Fresno County Library at the Fresno Rainbow Pride Festival was denied last week by the board of supervisors.<\/p>\n
Now, another county department wants to attend.<\/p>\n
But will its submission be denied as well?<\/p>\n
You may remember last week’s Fresno County Board of Supervisors meeting when county leaders voted against the library having a booth at the Fresno Rainbow Pride festival.<\/p>\n
“Without question, I believe the library is condoning LGBTQ+ issues to young and impressionable children, and that\u2019s clearly unacceptable to me and many constituents throughout the entire county of Fresno. I would say most disagree with what\u2019s going on at the library,” said Garry Bredfeld.<\/p>\n
This pulls people from across the county to share their opinion.<\/p>\n
Now, the Fresno County Public Health Department will request to have a booth at the same festival.<\/p>\n
However, what they were handing out at their booth last year may play a role in this week’s decision.<\/p>\n
“I don’t support taking taxpayer money and handing out rainbow condoms and lube for six thousand dollars. If you want to have sex buy your own damn condoms like everybody else in this world. The department of public health doesn’t have to fund your condoms and your lube,” said Bredefeld.<\/p>\n
Fresno County Supervisor Garry Bredefeld \u2013 hinting at a possible decision, saying he will support the booth only if they hand out medical information instead.<\/p>\n
The cost of the booth space is estimated at $ 125.<\/p>\n
