But there\u2019s just one major catch, it\u2019s underwater \u2014\u00a0according to a new real estate listing<\/a> \u2014\u00a0the 5,000 square feet of the picturesque San Francisco Bay listed for just $250 and is turning heads after appearing on Zillow.<\/p>\n

The parcel, listed as 0 Bancroft Avenue near the city\u2019s Bayview and Hunters Point neighborhoods, is described as a \u201crare underwater parcel\u201d spanning 4,996 square feet beneath the surface of the bay.<\/p>\n

Still, the seller insists the submerged lot could offer \u201ccreative ownership\u201d opportunities for the right buyer.<\/p>\n

According to the listing, the parcel could potentially be used for \u201cfuture waterfront positioning,\u201d \u201cpossible boat docking considerations,\u201d \u201cenvironmental or recreational applications,\u201d or long-term \u201cstrategic land banking.\u201d<\/p>\n

That last one is likely a pipe-dream of eventually turning the parcel into a piece of land \u2014 which could provide quite the return on investment in San Francisco.<\/p>\n

The listing also pitches the property as a rare investment opportunity, noting that underwater parcels in major metropolitan areas are uncommon.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo survey or improvements are currently recorded,\u201d the listing states, adding that any future uses would be subject to city, state and coastal regulations \u2014\u00a0which are notoriously bureaucratic<\/a> in the Golden State.<\/p>\n

Even so, the strange property appears to be drawing attention online simply because of how ridiculous the concept sounds in a city infamous for sky-high housing prices<\/a>.<\/p>\n
