Mendez after pleading guilty Oct. 21, 2025, to being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to U.S. Attorney Eric Grant.<\/p>\n<p>Court documents said surveillance video from Jan. 8, 2024, showed McBride driving past a Fresno residence while firing multiple shots. The gunfire struck the house and a vehicle parked in front of it while a victim hid behind the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/gvwire.com\/contact\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" class=\"a2t-link\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"GVWire-Ad-Get-our-mobile-app-1280\u00d790-1\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/GVWire-Ad-Get-our-mobile-app-1280x90-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"   width=\"1280\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Authorities arrested McBride later that month and found him carrying a stolen Glock handgun loaded with a high-capacity magazine, prosecutors said. Ballistic testing linked the handgun to the earlier shooting.<\/p>\n<p>McBride was barred from possessing firearms because of prior felony convictions, including six convictions for illegally possessing a firearm, as well as convictions for stalking and burglary.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014<\/p>\n<p>Connect with\u00a0\u00a0on social media.
