(FOX40.COM) \u2013 The Sacramento Fire Department is investigating the cause of an early morning fire that destroyed two apartment units. Calls about a fire at Greenhaven Oaks Apartments in Sacramento started coming in just after 3 a.m. Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Battalion Chief Keith Wade told FOX40 that everyone from both units, including children, made it out safely. The fire is believed to have started in the bottom unit before engulfing the unit above and spreading into the attic.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe arrived very fast. Our firehouse that we live in is right around the corner. Upon arrival, a huge wall of flames was way up on the outside of the building working its way in,\u201d Battalion Chief Wade said.<\/p>\n

Crews encountered a wall of flames but said weather conditions were much more favorable compared to recent days.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe one thing we\u2019re really thankful for is that these winds died down. This morning, as you can tell, we don\u2019t really have a breeze. With the winds we\u2019ve had the last several days and the fire that this was, we would\u2019ve possibly had a bigger incident, so we\u2019re glad that the winds took a break,\u201d Chief Wade said.<\/p>\n

Firefighters aggressively attacked the wall of flames before going inside to put out the fire and conduct a primary search. Besides the top and bottom units, the fire did not spread to any others.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve talked to property management here. They\u2019re going to help assist. They have some empty units that people impacted by this fire can still just move into those, and so they\u2019re not going to be unhoused,\u201d Chief Wade said.<\/p>\n

There are multiple units in the apartment complex that may be used for displaced residents, according to the\u00a0SFD.<\/p>\n
