So we try to make a nice meal. Home-cooked burritos, nachos, lemonade, whatever they want. And it’s just to help them know we’re here for them.”

The ministry began preparing fresh food every Tuesday and Thursday a couple of weeks ago. Volunteers visit different encampments and streets each day, bringing meals directly to people in need.

The group says the effort is rooted in Christianity’s call to feed the hungry and care for those on the margins.

If you’re on the ABC7 News app, click here to watch live

A religious community group has launched a new food truck aimed at feeding people experiencing homelessness in Oakland.…

[34
135351,23384,135350,112105,143,145,144,135352
post-325375","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-oakland","tag-father-daniel-williamson","tag-food-truck","tag-franciscan-friars","tag-fresh-food","tag-oakland","tag-oakland-headlines","tag-oakland-news","tag-religious-community-group
["GET
