The Los Angeles Angels<\/a> just can’t figure out how to win games, even with an early lead.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday night, the Angels jumped out to a 5-3 lead after two innings.<\/p>\n

Jorge Soler<\/a> hit a two-run home run to tie things in the first, and both Jo Adell<\/a> and Josh Lowe<\/a> hit home runs in the second to extend the lead to 5-3.<\/p>\n

The Athletics<\/a> then scored three runs in the final four innings, including one each in the ninth and the 10th to escape with a 6-5 victory in extra innings.<\/p>\n

Nick Kurtz<\/a> singled in a run in the seventh, and former New York Mets<\/a> veteran Jeff McNeil<\/a> hit a game-tying home run in the ninth.<\/p>\n

However, it was Tyler Soderstrom<\/a> who played hero with an RBI single in the 10th, although it was a misplayed ball by the Angels outfielders.<\/p>\n

It was the second error of the game for Lowe, and it came at the worst time as the Athletics took the lead and eventually won the game.<\/p>\n

Jack Kochanowicz<\/a> went six innings for the Angels, allowing three runs on three hits with seven strikeouts and four walks.<\/p>\n

Chase Silseth<\/a> got the loss, although he gave up just one hit with an unearned run on the misplayed ball by the outfielders.<\/p>\n

Veteran Aaron Civale<\/a> went five innings, allowing five runs on five hits with all five coming in the first two innings.<\/p>\n

Both teams had just six hits, and the Angels went hitless in the final four frames as the bats used all of their energy in the start of the game.<\/p>\n

So far, the Athletics have completely outplayed the Angels in this series, with the exception of the ninth inning on Monday and the first two innings on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The series ends on Thursday night in Anaheim. Luis Severino<\/a> takes the mound for the Athletics with a 2-5 record and a 4.45 ERA, and Jose Soriano looks to rebound as he brings a 6-3 record and a 2.41 ERA into the series finale.<\/p>\n

Soriano’s last outing was odd as he went 5.1 innings and allowed just one hit, but he gave up six runs on six walks to lose to the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Angels just can not win games, and this is their 10th loss in the last 12 games.<\/p>\n
