The teen is facing charges of attempted murder, assault and unlawful use of a weapon.<\/p>\n<p>The judge was ordered to remain in custody while the girl continues to recover from multiple surgeries. According to her family, she will remain in the hospital for another week.<\/p>\n<p>While the 13-year-old herself didn&#8217;t appear in court, the victim&#8217;s mother submitted a statement to the judge asking that the teen remain detained. He doesn\u2019t deserve to be free on the streets because he\u2019s a threat to the community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The teen\u2019s attorney argued he turned himself in and has medical needs that should be considered by the court. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will make sure to take care of him, and that he\u2019s not on the streets, and goes to school,\u201d the boy\u2019s father said. \u201cI wanted to apologize for what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The judge ultimately ruled the teen will remain in detention.
