Drivers should expect delays for about five weeks on a section of northbound I-5 south of Elk Grove, where the highway will be reduced to one lane for pavement repairs on weeknights beginning Thursday, Caltrans officials said.<\/p>\n

The pavement repairs will take place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday until June 30 with traffic control, according to a Thursday news release from Caltrans District 3<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Crews will repair 19 locations between Lambert Road and an area south of Twin Cities Road near Mokelumne City, Caltrans said.<\/p>\n

Caltrans said the work will include saw cutting, roadway excavation, paving and restriping.<\/p>\n

The speed limit in construction zones is 55 miles per hour in California. Motorists were encouraged to plan for additional travel time because of expected traffic delays, according to Caltrans.<\/p>\n
