BTS<\/a>‘ Bay Area food tour appears to have started with a bowl of ramen in San Jose’s Japantown.<\/p>\n

Kumako Ramen said that RM<\/a>, the rapper and leader of the global K-pop group, visited its Japantown restaurant before BTS wrapped its three-night run<\/a> at Stanford Stadium.<\/p>\n

“Before the shows even started, RM made a quiet stop at Kumako Ramen Japantown – a moment our team won’t forget anytime soon,” the restaurant wrote on Instagram<\/a> on Wednesday, May 20. “Thank you, RM, for dining with us and sharing a moment in our space. The Bay and the entire Kumako family are truly grateful.”<\/p>\n

The restaurant did not immediately say what RM ordered or exactly when he visited. In the post, Kumako gave a “big shoutout to Audrey for being part of that experience,” apparently referring to a staff member.<\/p>\n

For BTS fans, known as ARMY, the post added one more stop to the group’s growing unofficial Bay Area itinerary.<\/p>\n

During their stay for sold-out Stanford Stadium concerts, members of the group have been spotted or reported at Redwood City pizza restaurant Vesta<\/a>, California’s Great America, Hub Silicon Valley pickleball club in Campbell and Stanford’s “Crying Tree<\/a>,” a campus site made famous by Korean rapper Tablo.<\/p>\n

Kumako Ramen, on Jackson Street in San Jose’s Japantown, has been a neighborhood fixture since 2006. The small restaurant is known for ramen, Japanese curry and gyoza, with menu items including shio, shoyu, tonkotsu and spicy mabo ramen.<\/p>\n

The timing of the post seemed intentional. Several fans thanked the restaurant for sharing the news only after BTS had finished its local concerts, a delay that likely helped protect the group’s privacy during its Bay Area visit.<\/p>\n

The Stanford shows – held May 16, 17 and 19 – marked BTS’ first Bay Area run since the group played Oakland Arena in 2018.<\/p>\n

The seven-member group is now headed to Las Vegas for the next dates on its “Arirang” world tour.<\/p>\n
