D\u2019Anthony Chaney was convicted by a jury of first-degree murder with the special allegation of personally discharging a firearm causing death found true.\u00a0 He was also convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm.<\/p>\n
On January 2, 2022, D\u2019Anthony Chaney went into Mike\u2019s Liquor in south Land Park to buy alcohol and cigars.\u00a0 The victim, Terrence Lindsey, was already inside the store making a purchase.\u00a0 Chaney approached the counter and exchanged words with the victim, who let Chaney go in front of him in line. Chaney left the store and waited for the victim outside of the store with a 9 mm gun in his hand.\u00a0 When the victim exited the store, Chaney shot him seven times at close range, killing him.\u00a0 Chaney left the state the following morning and was arrested in Reno four days later by the Sacramento and Reno Police Departments.<\/p>\n
Chaney faces a maximum sentence of 53 years to life in prison.
