In honor of Bike Day, Los Angeles County Metro is throwing open its doors and offering free rides across its entire transit network all day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Turnstiles are unlocked, bus operators aren\u2019t collecting fares and Metro Bike Share users can grab unlimited 30-minute rides by plugging a promotional code into the app, online, or at dockside kiosks. Even the electric bikes, which typically carry a surcharge, are riding free today.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSystemwide riders can combine multiple transportation modes to get where they need to go seamlessly, easily for free,\u201d Metro said in a statement \u2014 a somewhat rare claim in a city where \u201cseamlessly\u201d and \u201cfree\u201d rarely apply to any type of transit.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Thursday, May 21 is Bike Day! Riders using BikeLink lockers this month can also earn matching parking credits through a companion promotion \u2014 a small nudge toward making bike commuting a habit.
