{"id":327926,"date":"2026-05-22T15:02:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-22T15:02:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/327926\/"},"modified":"2026-05-22T15:02:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-22T15:02:09","slug":"oakland-community-activist-finds-her-stolen-car-in-honda-graveyard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/327926\/","title":{"rendered":"Oakland community activist finds her stolen car in &#8216;Honda graveyard&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/pe8wj5ctimrfpqui.jpg\" alt=\"Oakland community activist finds her stolen car in 'Honda graveyard'\" class=\"sr-only\" data-v-4292be72=\"\"\/>    <\/p>\n<p data-v-94395e58=\"\">OAKLAND, Calif. &#8211; An Oakland community organizer is sharing her frustration after her car was stolen and stripped bare over the weekend, exposing what she described as a localized dumping ground for stolen cars.<\/p>\n<p>   Stolen car found stripped to shreds <\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" origination_station=\"KTVU\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-94395e58=\"\">What we know:<\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/t-oak-car-graveyard_00.00.09.24.jpg\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" fetchpriority=\"auto\" data-v-2fe2fe3e=\"\"\/> <\/p>\n<p data-v-2fe2fe3e=\"\">Community activist Jazz Hudson&#8217;s stolen car was found stripped.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p data-v-94395e58=\"\">Jazz Hudson, a local community advocate, was working alongside the &#8220;40 by 40&#8221; nonprofit at the Malcolm X Jazz Festival at San Antonio Park on Saturday, when her car was stolen off the street.<\/p>\n<p data-v-94395e58=\"\">The following day, Hudson located her vehicle at the corner of Plymouth Street and 86th Avenue in East Oakland.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-94395e58=\"\">When she arrived, she discovered her car had been torn to shreds and dumped alongside a slew of other stripped Honda vehicles, creating what she termed a &#8220;Honda graveyard.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-v-94395e58=\"\">&#8220;Once I went around the corner, I could see all these other Hondas abandoned, rummaged through, people\u2019s IDs still in the car,&#8221; Hudson said.<\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" origination_station=\"KTVU\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-94395e58=\"\">What they&#8217;re saying:<\/p>\n<p data-v-94395e58=\"\">One neighbor told KTVU that his home has frequently been used as a dumping site for many of these stripped vehicles.<\/p>\n<p data-v-94395e58=\"\">According to the neighbor, after months of placing calls to the Oakland Police Department, officers finally arrived this week to tow all the abandoned cars away from the property.<\/p>\n<p data-v-94395e58=\"\">Selena Wilson of the East Oakland Youth Development Center said she didn&#8217;t want to &#8220;lock up more of these kids,&#8221; but rather figure out who is organizing these car thefts and focus on the crime ring on a more strategic level.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-94395e58=\"\">Community advocates are calling on OPD and other regional agencies to address the root causes of the ongoing auto thefts.<\/p>\n<p data-v-94395e58=\"\">City leaders stated that the Alameda County Regional Auto Theft Task Force is actively working on the issue, identifying and stopping the crime rings responsible for the thefts.<\/p>\n<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/oak-car-graveyard-2-raw_ktvu7d1a_132_mpg_00.00.39.04.jpg\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" fetchpriority=\"auto\" data-v-2fe2fe3e=\"\"\/> <\/p>\n<p data-v-2fe2fe3e=\"\">Scattered car parts at corner of Plymouth Street and 86th Avenue in East Oakland.
