A 25-year-old man pleaded guilty and was immediately sentenced to a year in jail for kidnapping and molesting a 16-year-old girl at a Denny’s restaurant where they both worked in Anaheim, according to court records obtained Wednesday.

Hasmyr Helim Sanchez pleaded guilty to a felony count of kidnapping and a misdemeanor count of touching an intimate part of another person. As part of the plea deal, felony counts of rape, assault with the intent to commit a sex offense, sexual battery, assault of a minor with the intent to commit a sex offense and false imprisonment were dismissed.

Sanchez was sentenced to 364 days in jail Monday with 225 days credit behind bars. He will have to register as a sex offense for the next 10 years.

Sanchez worked with the victim, who was a waitress, at a Denny’s at 1610 S. Harbor Blvd., according to police testimony at the defendant’s preliminary hearing. She said he sexually assaulted her in a storage room at the restaurant on May 17, 2021.

Sanchez was also accused by another co-worker from a Taco Bell in Anaheim, who said she was assaulted in a car with him, but those charges were dismissed.

A 25-year-old man pleaded guilty and was immediately sentenced to a year in jail for kidnapping and molesting…

[36
163,165,164,4163,4164,4165,360
post-3303","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-anaheim","tag-anaheim","tag-anaheim-headlines","tag-anaheim-news","tag-assaulting","tag-guilty","tag-pleads","tag-teen
["GET
