{"id":332452,"date":"2026-05-26T04:24:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-26T04:24:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/332452\/"},"modified":"2026-05-26T04:24:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-26T04:24:14","slug":"muslim-leaders-in-baltimore-demand-response-to-san-diego-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/332452\/","title":{"rendered":"Muslim leaders in Baltimore demand response to San Diego attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s a national tragedy with little response so far from the White House.<\/p>\n<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/blue.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Muslim leaders in Baltimore demand response to San Diego attack<\/p>\n<p>Muslim leaders in Baltimore demand response to San Diego attack<\/p>\n<p>Religious leaders in Baltimore say that needs to change.<\/p>\n<p>Today Muslim leaders from across the country are in Baltimore for an annual conference.<\/p>\n<p>It comes one week after a deadly attack on the Islamic center of San Diego.<\/p>\n<p>Three people were killed after two teenagers opened fire.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI is investigating the attack as a hate crime.<\/p>\n<p>At a news conference this morning, religious leaders say they want four things:<\/p>\n<p>One\u2014for the Department of Justice to open a hate crime investigation on the attack.<\/p>\n<p>Two\u2014for the Department of Homeland Security to expand its security grant program so mosques &#8230; Islamic schools and Muslim community centers can pay for security.<\/p>\n<p>Three\u2014 for elected officials who have used anti-Muslim rhetoric are to be reprimanded for their words.<\/p>\n<p>And four\u2014for President Trump to issue a condemnation of the attack.<\/p>\n<p>So far, President Trump called the attack a terrible situation but has not commented further.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s a national tragedy with little response so far from the White House.
