8. Knott\u2019s Berry Farm

Knott\u2019s Berry Farm started a century ago when Walter and Cordelia Knott moved to California and started selling various types of berries. After some time, Walter Knott became known among Californians far and wide for inventing the famous boysenberry.<\/p>\n

After Cordelia Knott opened a fried chicken restaurant, the couple became even more well-known. Folks would wait hours to eat at Mrs. Knott\u2019s restaurant, and to entertain guests, Mr. Knott built the first version of the theme park\u2019s signature Ghost Town<\/a> attraction.<\/p>\n

Throughout the following decades, more rides gradually got added to the standalone attraction, eventually growing into the Knott\u2019s Berry Farm of today. Aside from Ghost Town, visitors flock to GhostRider, one of the fastest and highest wooden roller coasters across the West Coast, or HangTime, California\u2019s first-ever dive roller coaster.<\/p>\n
