\u201cGirl dinner\u201d has gone so mainstream you can now order it at restaurants in the Fresno area.<\/p>\n

The term went viral on the internet recently for that thing that women do when their meat-and-potatoes-loving partners are away and they just don\u2019t feel like cooking.<\/p>\n

They eat a combination of snacks that\u2019s just healthy enough to make up a meal, usually with a glass of something alcoholic involved. (And they usually while eat it while planted in front of their favorite TV show or movie.)<\/p>\n

So, a plate filled with enough cheese, crackers, pickles and wine to fill them up.<\/p>\n

Or maybe a charcuterie board.<\/p>\n

The term ripped through TikTok<\/a> and made it to Merriam Webster online, where one example of it included this description from Threads user @imnotready4thissheet: \u201cGirl dinner should look like a feral raccoon was given access to your kitchen. Girl Dinner should not include cooking or using anything but a knife to prepare it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Somewhere along the line, girl dinner evolved to become a Caesar salad, french fries and a drink. It\u2019s different, but still has all the main pillars of the meal: Low effort, yummy and satisfying, and healthy enough.<\/p>\n

Several Fresno-area restaurants are jumping on the trend as a way to attract customers, usually with low price.<\/p>\n

$20 for a martini, a side salad and french fries<\/a>. Choose from a \u201cTentini\u201d made with raspberry and Champagne, an espresso martini or a dirty martini. There\u2019s also a choice between a half a chicken caesar salad or a half a strawberry-spinach salad with chicken.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a limited-time offer that will likely last into the summer.<\/p>\n

Starving Artists Bistro<\/a>, 9447 N. Fort Washington, Fresno.<\/p>\n

$20 for a Cosmopolitan cocktail, a salad and french fries.<\/p>\n

CheyAnne\u2019s Steakhouse & Lounge, 505 Sierra St., Kingsburg.<\/p>\n

$29 for a martini, appetizer and salad<\/a>. This deal is only available from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. now through Labor Day.<\/p>\n

Choose from a vanilla cold-foam espresso martini, CheyAnne\u2019s raspberry lemon drop martini, or a classic gin or vodka martini.<\/p>\n

For an appetizer, pick from pork belly tossed in a house glaze, truffle fries or shrimp cocktail.<\/p>\n

Salad options include a garden, wedge or Caesar salad.<\/p>\n
