\n\tUPDATED with Hernandez Santana\u2019s attorney statement: The man arrested for allegedly shooting into the offices<\/a> of Sacramento ABC<\/a> affiliate KXTV<\/a> (ABC10<\/a>) wrote a note invoking Jeffrey Epstein and said high-level Trump Administration officials were \u201cnext,\u201d according to a federal complaint filed Monday by the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office in Sacramento.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe FBI arrested Anibal Hernandez Santana, 63, of Sacramento, over the weekend following his release on $200,000 bond from the Sacramento County Main Jail on Saturday. A three-count amended criminal complaint was filed against him Monday morning, charging him with possessing a firearm within a school zone, discharging a firearm within a school zone and interfering with a radio communication station, U.S.\u00a0Attorney Eric Grant announced.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe shooting occurred the day after a protest was held outside ABC10 denouncing ABC\u2019s suspension of Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> Live!<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring a search of Hernandez Santana\u2019s home and vehicle, law enforcement discovered a weekly planner attached to his refrigerator. Under \u201cFriday,\u201d there was a handwritten note that read, \u201cDo the Next Scary Thing.\u201d Law enforcement also found in his car a handwritten note that read: \u201cFor hiding Epstein & ignoring red flags. Do not support Patel, Bongino, & AG Pam Bondi. They\u2019re next. \u2013 C.K. from above.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to court documents, Hernandez Santana on Friday fired three shots into and one toward the KXTV\/ABC10 station on Broadway in Sacramento. While standing on the sidewalk around the block from the station, Hernandez Santana fired the first shot into the air in the direction of the station. He then drove to the front of the station and fired three shots directly into the building\u2019s lobby through a window. A KXTV\/ABC 10 employee was inside the lobby at the time, though no one was injured. The location from where Hernandez Santana fired the first shot was within a school zone.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Sacramento Police Department initially arrested Hernandez Santana on Friday night, but he was released on bail the next day. The FBI arrested him hours later.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt is remarkably uncommon for any individual to face simultaneous state and federal charges for the same alleged conduct,\u201d said Mark Reichel, attorney for Hernandez Santana. \u201cGiven the highly unusual circumstances here, we understand the news media and the public have many questions, as do we. At this time, we have not had an opportunity to review the evidence in the case, so our ability to provide those answers is non-existent. Mr. Hernandez Santana is entitled to due process \u2014 he is innocent unless and until he is found otherwise.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe FBI is continuing its investigation. Hernandez Santana is due to appear Wednesday afternoon in Sacramento Superior Court on the state charges.<\/p>\n

\n\tIf convicted, Hernandez Santana faces a maximum five years in prison and a $250,000 fine for possessing and discharging a firearm within a school zone and a maximum of one year in prison and a $10,000 fine for interfering with a radio communication station.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe demonstration outside the building Thursday was part of widespread protests over\u00a0ABC\u2019s suspension of Kimmel<\/a>\u00a0following his\u00a0comments about Charlie Kirk<\/a>, including one held\u00a0outside Disney studios in Burbank<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0another in Hollywood<\/a>\u00a0where\u00a0Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/a>!\u00a0is taped. Attendees at the Sacramento protest held signs reading \u201cFirst Amendment,\u201d \u201cResist\u201d and \u201cYou\u2019re Next\u201d among others.<\/p>\n

\n\tABC\u00a0on Monday revealed that\u00a0Jimmy Kimmel Live!\u00a0is returning on Tuesday night<\/a> after \u201cthoughtful conversations\u201d with parent company\u00a0Disney<\/a>.<\/p>\n
