Sacramento SPCA teams up with the A’s for adoptions at Tuesday home games

LET’S TAKE A LIVE LOOK AT CENTRAL PARK RIGHT NOW. TONIGHT, THE A’S WILL CONTINUE THE SEATTLE MARINERS. BUT YOU’RE GOING TO WANT TO KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR MORE THAN JUST THE PLAYERS. THE SACRAMENTO SPCA WILL ALSO FEATURE TWO ADORABLE ADOPTABLE DOGS. HERE TO TELL US A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT THE SPECIAL PARTNERSHIP AND HOW YOU CAN TAKE ONE OF THESE DOGS HOME IS NATALIE VERGARA, WITH A VERY EXCITED DOG. HERE WE HAVE NEPTUNE IN THE STUDIO WITH US. TELL US A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT THIS EXCITING PARTNERSHIP. YEAH. SO WE ARE CURRENTLY GOING TO EVERY TUESDAY HOME GAME AT SUTTER HEALTH PARK WITH THE A’S. EVERY TUESDAY WE WILL BE BRINGING TWO ADOPTABLE DOGS TO THE GAME. PEOPLE ARE WELCOME TO COME BY AND SAY HELLO, GIVE THEM SOME PETS, GIVE THEM SOME TREATS AND REALLY, YOU KNOW, GET TO KNOW THEIR STORIES AND SEE IF THEY ARE THE PERFECT FIT FOR THEIR HOME. HOW SPECIAL. TELL ME A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT NEPTUNE. ADORABLE FACE. WHAT SHOULD FAMILIES KNOW IF THEY’RE SAYING I WANT TO TAKE HIM HOME? YEAH. SO NEPTUNE IS A TWO YEAR OLD AMERICAN WHITE SHEPHERD MIX. HE WOULD DO GOOD WITH DOGS, CATS, AND KIDS WITH SLOW INTRODUCTIONS. NOW FOR A TWO YEAR OLD SHEPHERD, HE DOES HAVE A LOT OF ENERGY. SO WE’RE GOING TO TRY AND LOOK FOR A FAMILY WHO’S GOING TO WORK A LITTLE BIT ON THAT TRAINING. HE IS A VERY LIKE, ATTENTIVE DOG, SO WE THINK HE WOULD DO REALLY WELL AFTER THAT TRAINING. BUT HE DOES LIKE JUMPING UP. SO IF YOU DO HAVE LITTLE KIDS, WE WOULD SUGGEST MAKING SURE THEIR DOG SAVVY OR MAYBE WAITING FOR A HOUSEHOLD THAT HAS A LITTLE BIT OLDER KIDS WHO CAN DEAL WITH. ABSOLUTELY. AUDIENCE THERE AT THE A’S GAME, WHAT DOES IT MEAN, DO YOU THINK, FOR SAVING THE LIVES OF THESE PETS? OH, IT’S BEEN REALLY GREAT. WE’VE BEEN ABLE TO CONNECT WITH A LOT OF PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY WHO DIDN’T ALREADY KNOW ABOUT THE SACRAMENTO SPCA. WE’VE BEEN ABLE TO HELP AND ASSIST THEM WITH NOT ONLY GETTING TO KNOW THE DOGS THAT WE HAVE AT THE GAME, BUT ALSO WITH THE QUESTIONS THAT THEY HAVE AND CONNECTING THEM WITH OUR PROGRAMS AND SERVICES. SO IT’S BEEN A REALLY GREAT WAY TO ENGAGE WITH THE COMMUNITY, AND YOU GET TO HANG OUT WITH THEM FOR A LITTLE BIT. TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE OF HOW THEY CAN CONNECT AT THE GAME WITH THESE ANIMALS. YEAH, PEOPLE ARE WELCOME TO COME BY AND SAY HELLO. IT REALLY HELPS THE DOGS ESPECIALLY GET SOCIALIZED TO DIFFERENT PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT DEMOGRAPHICS. THEY’RE ABLE TO GET TO KNOW ALL OF THE SIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF THE GAME. THEY CAN ENGAGE WITH LIKE PEOPLE OF ALL AGES. AND FOLKS ARE REALLY EXCITED, FRANKLY, TO COME SAY HI. THEY REALLY STEAL THE SHOW. AND SO WE’VE HAD A LOT OF GREAT ENGAGEMENT THERE AT THE GAMES. AND I LOVE IT WHEN LIKE THE LITTLE KIDS COME UP AND PET THE DOGS. IT’S ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE. THERE’S SOMETHING FOR EVERYBODY. AND IS THIS A FREE ADOPTION FOR FAMILIES? YES. SO THE A’S HAVE VERY KINDLY AND GRACIOUSLY DECIDED TO SPONSOR ALL OF THE DOGS WHO COME TO THE GAME. AND SO IF YOU ARE LOOKING SPECIFICALLY FOR A DOG WHO HAS BEEN TO A BASEBALL GAME, YOU CAN LOOK ON OUR WEBSITE. THE A’S LOGO IS ON THEIR PHOTO. THAT MAKES IT SUPER EASY TO MAKE IT SUPER EASY. SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHO HAS BEEN THERE. NATALIE. I THINK NEPTUNE IS READY TO GO ON A WALK RIGHT NOW, SO WE’LL LET YOU GO. BUT YEAH, WE’LL HAVE MU
