(KFSN) &#8212; Former Fresno congressman TJ Cox is expected to report to federal prison on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Cox was sentenced to one year and one day in prison last December after pleading guilty to two counts of wire fraud.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Court documents revealed that Cox created illegal bank accounts over the course of five years before he entered Congress.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Prosecutors said he used the accounts to funnel client and company money, all while securing a $1.5 million loan to develop Granite Park in central Fresno.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">In 2018, Cox ousted Congressman David Valadao in the South Valley, flipping the seat from a Republican to a Democrat in a major upset with national implications.<\/p>\n<p><br class=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026 KFSN-TV.
