An attorney for a woman arrested in Fairfield is alleging excessive force was used on her by an officer in 2025 who is now under fire after video appears to show her punching a 16-year-old boy multiple times during an arrest at Fairfield High School last week.<\/p>\n

Last Wednesday, Fairfield Officer Bianca Camacho was filmed appearing to strike Fairfield High School student Maurice Williams multiple times and grabbing him by his hair following a lunchtime altercation at the school. Fairfield police referred to the officer’s hitting of Williams as “distraction strikes” in a statement issued Thursday.<\/p>\n

A distraction strike is used by police to divert an uncompliant suspect’s attention so that handcuffs or other restraints can be applied. They are usually an open-hand strike, punch or kick and are supposed to be directed at non-vital areas of the suspect’s body.<\/p>\n
Footage of Camacho’s altercation with the boy went viral and she has been “administratively reassigned” while an outside investigation into the arrest is carried out, Fairfield Police Chief Dan Marshall said in a social media post Friday.<\/p>\n
In July 2025, Myah Hamilton was 18 years old when she was forcefully pulled from her vehicle in Fairfield by Camacho, then known as Bianca Brown, during a traffic stop. The passenger in her car recorded the altercation.<\/p>\n
Until Sunday, Hamilton kept the cellphone footage of her arrest private, she said in an interview. But after seeing videos of the arrest of Williams last week by the same officer, Hamilton reached out to Williams’ family and released the footage from her arrest.<\/p>\n

Police in Redwood City are trying to identify a suspect in a fatal pedestrian hit and run this weekend, the department said Tuesday.<\/p>\n
On Sunday at about 9:45 p.m., a 72-year-old woman was near the intersection of Middlefield Road and Beech Street when she was struck by a vehicle. Officers arrived and she was taken to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries and died.<\/p>\n
The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene. The vehicle was described as a white truck, according to police.<\/p>\n

Police in San Francisco arrested a suspected robber and two people who allegedly fenced the stolen goods, the department said Tuesday.<\/p>\n
On the evening of May 17, officers were sent to Eddy and Hyde streets on a report of a robbery. They reviewed surveillance footage and a description of the suspect went out; police believe the same man was responsible for a robbery the day before, they said.<\/p>\n
Officers spotted the suspect and followed him to Golden Gate Avenue and Leavenworth Street, where they viewed surveillance footage of the suspect allegedly talking to two fences, or people who buy stolen property in exchange for cash.<\/p>\n

Arrested on suspicion of robbery was Tabaris Foster, 21, who was booked into jail on suspicion of robbery, conspiracy, being in possession of stolen property, grand theft, committing a felony while out on bail, failure to appear in court, and a warrant for vandalism.<\/p>\n
The alleged fencers were Fernando Tezensuruy, 33, and Ronald Escalante Castillo, 26. Both were booked into jail on suspicion of being in possession of stolen property and conspiracy.<\/p>\n
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday said it arrested a suspected prolific diesel thief.<\/p>\n

Investigators had been looking into a series of ongoing diesel fuel thefts throughout the county, the Sheriff’s Office said. Surveillance cameras were installed which led to the identification of Soledad resident Pedro Martinez, 49, as the suspect.<\/p>\n
Multiple search warrants were issued for the case as well.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, detectives allege they saw Martinez leaving a vineyard in Soledad right after stealing fuel. The Sheriff’s Office alleges Martinez admitted to taking more than 1,000 gallons of diesel from multiple agricultural properties over an extended period of time. Investigators estimate the total loss associated with these thefts tops $10,000.<\/p>\n
Detectives recovered Martinez’s truck and fuel tank, which were seized and booked into evidence as part of the investigation.<\/p>\n

Martinez was arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail on suspicion of grand theft, attempted grand theft, and trespassing.<\/p>\n
The National Weather Service forecast for the greater San Francisco Bay Area for Wednesday calls for mostly sunny skies with some cloud cover in the morning, and slight chances of rain and patchy fog in at night across the region.<\/p>\n
Daytime highs will be mostly in the low to high 60s on the coast, high 60s to low 70s around the bay, and low to mid 70s inland. Overnight lows will be mostly in the high 40s to low 50s.<\/p>\n

Cool, unsettled weather will continue across the Bay Area and Central Coast on Wednesday as an upper-level disturbance lingers over the region, keeping temps well below normal and bringing a chance of light showers, according to the NWS.<\/p>\n
Forecasters say the system responsible for recent cool weather will weaken slightly during the day but remain nearly stationary. Interior low-lying areas are expected to stay about 5 to 10 degrees below normal for late May, while higher elevations will remain significantly cooler than average.<\/p>\n
