A 70-year-old Pontiac man is facing criminal charges for allegedly shooting his wife in the face.<\/p>\n

David Lee Montgomery is accused of shooting his wife during a marital dispute last Saturday. The bullet struck her in the jaw and \u201cbarely missed the carotid artery,\u201d according to the Oakland County Prosecutor\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s expected to recover from her injuries, the prosecutor\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n

At the time of the shooting, the couple\u2019s two grandchildren were in the home, the prosecutor\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n

Montgomery was booked into the Oakland County Jail shortly before 4 a.m. on May 23. He\u2019s\u00a0 charged with assault with intent to murder \u2014 punishable by up to life in prison \u2014 and felony firearm. Arraignment in 50th District Court is pending.<\/p>\n
