{"id":336702,"date":"2026-05-28T23:55:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-28T23:55:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/336702\/"},"modified":"2026-05-28T23:55:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T23:55:09","slug":"fresno-police-seek-suspects-in-store-theft-that-injured-clerk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/336702\/","title":{"rendered":"Fresno Police Seek Suspects in Store Theft That Injured Clerk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fresno police are asking for the public\u2019s help identifying two suspects accused of stealing food and drinks from a business and injuring a store clerk during the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the theft happened May 18 at about 5:32 a.m. near Belmont Avenue and Calaveras Street.<\/p>\n<p>According to investigators, one suspect wearing a white long-sleeve shirt and black pants with \u201cChampion\u201d logos grabbed an armful of burritos and ran out of the store without paying.<\/p>\n<p><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/gvwire.com\/contact\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" class=\"a2t-link\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"GVWire-Ad-Get-our-mobile-app-1280\u00d790-1\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/GVWire-Ad-Get-our-mobile-app-1280x90-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"   width=\"1280\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A second suspect, described as wearing a red hoodie with \u201cECKO\u201d on the front, allegedly grabbed several drinks and ran into the clerk as the employee attempted to stop the suspect from leaving the store.<\/p>\n<p>Police said one of the suspects pushed the clerk, causing injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Surveillance video showed both suspects running west toward an alley behind the business, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>Got a Tip?<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to contact Detective Rebekah Nolen at <a href=\"https:\/\/gvwire.com\/2026\/05\/28\/fresno-police-seek-suspects-in-store-theft-that-injured-clerk\/mailto:Rebekah.nolen@fresno.gov\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rebekah.nolen@fresno.gov<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014<\/p>\n<p>Connect with\u00a0\u00a0on social media.
