One later died at the hospital, while the other three were assessed for non-life-threatening injuries at the scene.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAt approximately 12:13 a.m., San Francisco police officers responded to the area of 16th and Mission Streets regarding a vehicle collision,\u201d read an email from the police department.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOfficers arrived on scene and located a pedestrian victim being treated by paramedics for life threatening injuries \u2026 Despite lifesaving efforts of medical staff, the victim was later declared deceased at the hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Officers later located the suspected vehicle and detained the occupant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the <a href=\"https:\/\/app.powerbigov.us\/view?r=eyJrIjoiMGNmMDdmNmQtMTA1Ni00NTFmLWI5YmQtNzZiNDU0YWE4NmJmIiwidCI6IjIyZDVjMmNmLWNlM2UtNDQzZC05YTdmLWRmY2MwMjMxZjczZiJ9\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">10th traffic-related fatality<\/a> in San Francisco so far this year. Nine of these have been pedestrians and one a person riding a standup powered device.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This latest casualty comes nearly six weeks after <a href=\"https:\/\/missionlocal.org\/2026\/04\/dannielle-spillman-was-a-grandma-and-a-rockstar\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dannielle Spillman<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/missionlocal.org\/2026\/04\/sf-man-hit-killed-truck-soma\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">was hit and killed<\/a> by a driver just blocks away, near the intersection of Mission Street and South Van Ness Avenue. The District Attorney\u2019s office later filed murder charges against <a href=\"https:\/\/missionlocal.org\/2026\/04\/driver-accused-of-murder-in-hit-and-run-to-remain-in-jail\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Valentino Cash Amil<\/a>, the driver of the vehicle that killed Spillman.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Traffic Collision Investigations Unit is leading the investigation. This is an open and active investigation.
