(WSVN) &#8211; A man was hospitalized in a deputy-involved shooting on Friday evening after <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/broward\/bso-responds-to-barricaded-subject-armed-with-a-knife-in-oakland-park\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">barricading himself in an Oakland Park apartment<\/a> with a knife.<\/p>\n<p>According to Broward Sheriff\u2019s Office deputies, they received a report of a man armed with a knife.<\/p>\n<p>The incident took place inside an apartment complex along West Oakland Park Boulevard and Northwest 8th Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>Residents were told by Broward Sheriff\u2019s Office deputies to evacuate their homes as a precaution.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies spent several hours trying to get the man to surrender.<\/p>\n<p>However, according to BSO officials, the incident ended with shots being fired. <\/p>\n<p>Oakland Park Fire Rescue crews transported the suspect to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.<\/p>\n<p>No other injuries were reported, and an investigation is currently ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 Sunbeam Television Corp.
