A manager did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Still, the sighting was enough to stir up local enthusiasm. Several commenters said they had just missed him, while others praised the restaurant as one of their favorite Bay Area spots.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Original Joe&#8217;s Westlake, at 11 Glenwood Ave., is one of the region&#8217;s best-known old-school Italian American restaurants. The location traces its roots to Joe&#8217;s of Westlake, a Daly City institution from 1956 to 2014. After a two-year closure and renovation, it reopened as Original Joe&#8217;s Westlake.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The restaurant is part of the Original Joe&#8217;s family of restaurants, whose San Francisco history dates to 1937, when Tony Rodin opened the original restaurant in the Tenderloin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Sandler, 59, is best known for comedies including &#8220;Happy Gilmore,&#8221; &#8220;Billy Madison&#8221; and &#8220;The Wedding Singer,&#8221; along with dramatic roles in films such as &#8220;Uncut Gems.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">But he has been in the news recently for a <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/adam-sandler-divides-internet-outfit-wife-jackies-premiere-11984581\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"elm:link;elmt:article_link;slk:very different public appearance;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;context_link&quot;,&quot;yModuleName&quot;:&quot;content-canvas&quot;,&quot;yLinkText&quot;:&quot;very different public appearance&quot;}\" class=\"link \">very different public appearance<\/a>: his outfit at the Los Angeles premiere of Netflix&#8217;s &#8220;Office Romance,&#8221; which stars his wife, Jackie Sandler.
