{"id":341821,"date":"2026-06-01T19:43:11","date_gmt":"2026-06-01T19:43:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/341821\/"},"modified":"2026-06-01T19:43:11","modified_gmt":"2026-06-01T19:43:11","slug":"new-south-bay-ferry-service-opens-between-chula-vista-and-downtown-san-diego","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/341821\/","title":{"rendered":"New South Bay ferry service opens between Chula Vista and downtown San Diego"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A new ferry service is launching Monday, allowing riders to cruise up and down the bay between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portofsandiego.org\/projects\/chula-vista-bayfront\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chula Vista<\/a> and downtown San Diego. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Service from Flagship Cruises &amp; Events began its daily schedule Monday with an 8 a.m. departure from Chula Vista\u2019s waterfront at 600 Marina Parkway. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each crossing takes around 45 minutes, with departures from alternating terminals scheduled at the top of the hour. One-way fares will be $15 per passenger. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The final departure of the day will leave <a href=\"https:\/\/fifthavenuelanding.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fifth Avenue Landing<\/a> at 7:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are very excited about extending ferry service to this area of the South Bay,\u201d said Brad Engel, president of <a href=\"https:\/\/flagshipsd.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Flagship Cruises &amp; Events<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis new route creates another unique and enjoyable way to experience San Diego Bay while improving connectivity between Chula Vista and Downtown San Diego.
