OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. \u2013 A motorcycle crash has shut down the intersection between Maple and Drake roads in Oakland County.<\/p>\n
The crash occurred on Monday (June 1) at 1:30 p.m. in West Bloomfield Township.<\/p>\n
Police said the motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in a single-vehicle crash that prompted the closure.<\/p>\n
Officials said the motorcycle rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and sustained life-threatening injuries. <\/p>\n
Police and firefighters said they responded to the scene and provided emergency assistance.<\/p>\n
Officers said the rider was transported by the West Bloomfield Fire Department to a nearby hospital for treatment. <\/p>\n
Officials have not released the rider\u2019s identity or provided an update on their condition.<\/p>\n
The crash remains under investigation.<\/p>\n
Police urged motorists to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until the investigation is completed and the roadway reopens.<\/p>\n
Police said there is no estimate for when Maple Road will reopen.<\/p>\n
