A man barricaded himself inside a bank<\/a> building in Bakersfield<\/a>, California<\/a>, with an unknown number of people on Tuesday, police<\/a> said.<\/p>\n Officers responded to a report of a bomb threat at around 1 p.m. at a Chase Bank in downtown Bakersfield, where they found that a man had locked himself inside the building with \u201cseveral community members,\u201d according to the Bakersfield Police Department.<\/p>\n Some of those inside were able to escape, officials said. No injuries have been reported, and nearby buildings, including city hall and police headquarters, were placed on lockdown.<\/p>\n Police said the department\u2019s crisis negotiation team is in contact with the suspect by telephone.<\/p>\n Officers established a perimeter around the building and nearby businesses, authorities said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are on scene at the Chase Bank Building on Chester Avenue and 17th Street for a confirmed bomb threat,\u201d the police department posted on X. \u201cPlease stay out of the downtown area. Road closures are in effect and will remain in effect until further notice.\u201d<\/p>\n About a dozen police cars were on scene along with one tactical vehicle and multiple emergency responders, and FBI agents were on the scene.<\/p>\n Jacob Davidson, a livestreamer known as Dad\u2019s Gone Live, was a block from the bank at his family\u2019s tattoo shop when he started getting calls from his subscribers alerting him to the bomb threat.<\/p>\n \u201cI went into the bank\u2019s parking garage and watched the cops enter the back of the bank.
