Paulson, Ueltzen Race Could Be Run-Off"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Races to fill the seven Fresno County Superior Court judge seats have produced early results, with some candidates taking strong early leads.<\/p>\n<p>For Superior Court Judge No. 3, Marc Kapetan claimed 55.88% of the vote compared to Rosalina Nunez, who holds 43.86%. With only two candidates for this seat, the winner in the primary will likely take the seat outright, barring strong write-in results.<\/p>\n<p>For Seat No. 6, Ashley Paulson has taken the lead with 48.26% of the vote, while Steven Ueltzen holds 31.92% and Deidre Adams holds 19.56%. If Paulson cannot claim more than 50% by the time results are reported, the race will go to a runoff in November.<\/p>\n<p><a data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/gvwire.com\/contact\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" class=\"a2t-link\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"GVWire-Ad-Get-our-mobile-app-1280\u00d790-1\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/GVWire-Ad-Get-our-mobile-app-1280x90-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"   width=\"1280\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe initial results are extremely humbling, and I\u2019m grateful to the voters of Fresno County for voting for me to serve as their next Superior Court judge,\u201d Paulson said in a statement to GV Wire.<\/p>\n<p>Jeff Hammerschmidt currently stands with 52.54% of the vote, while Jose Salazar and Curtis Sok trail with 32.36% and 14.79%, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>As the only candidate for Seat No. 8, Daniel Brickey has the seat all but officially secured, taking 98.79% of the vote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rlic_tareqanwar_link\">Related Story: <a href=\"https:\/\/gvwire.com\/2026\/05\/28\/fresno-judicial-candidate-flips-the-bird-in-holiday-card-fair-or-foul\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fresno Judicial Candidate Flips the Bird in Holiday Card.
